Interstate is a well-bred Godolphin 3yo (Palace Pier x Pulpit) improving with blinkers on, form reads 02-221 with two wins last two starts, clearly progressive and racing off a fair mark of 83. Buick booking from Gosden yard signals confidence, and the step up in trip/class trajectory suggests more to come. Law Court (Ryan Moore, Hannon) is the obvious market leverage on pure form (212926) but is already fully exposed at a similar OR (86) and has found one better in most starts without winning much of late - solid but not obviously improving. Dark Whisper looks interesting on RPR/pedigree but lightly raced with a long absence (50 days) and unproven getting the trip in this grade. Empirical has been in great form (-83112) and can't be dismissed, but is dropping back in class/rating already exposed at a lower mark. Interstate's combination of scope, blinkers first/continuing, top connections and a winning sequence at a workable mark makes him the most likely to have most improvement left, and the class/stable angle offers value against a fairly workmanlike looking favourite in Law Court.
