Southwell (AW) 4:50 Result

Von Krolock's recent form line 231621 is outstanding for this grade - a recent win, plus placed efforts, culminating in another win last time out. He's clearly progressive, in tremendous form, and his OR of 63 looks fair given he's beating that mark with recent victories. James Owen trains him and owns him, suggesting genuine confidence, and the booking of a young apprentice (Christian Howarth 3lb claim) helps with weight while adding a capable young rider who's clearly building a strong association with the yard. Draw 4 is workable for a 6f AW sprint. Blinkers already fitted and working, no need for experimentation - proven configuration. Compare this to the likes of Bill Plumb (patchy 3-6860 form, tongue-tie added suggesting a breathing issue), Zarinca (dropping in class after fading), or Staniel Cay (541345 - inconsistent, not building a leading claim). Preferred looks interesting on a shorter form figure (434) but unproven fully at this level and untested with regards to petering out; Cool Doc Boy has a break of 107 days which is a concern. Von Krolock's rock-solid recent figures (2-3-1-6-2-1) stand out as the most confidence-inspiring in the field, and he looks well-treated to follow up. He ticks the boxes for trip, ground, and current form heading into this contest, and represents a solid each-way and win watch given the depth of this competitive low-grade handicap.
