Lightly raced 3yo with just two starts, form figures 3-1, clearly progressive and won last time out. Bred for this trip (Saxon Warrior/Invincible Spirit damsire, both strong middle-distance influences), and being aimed at handicaps by James Fanshawe/Billy Loughnane, a shrewd combo. OR of only 79 looks workable given the visual improvement suggested by the form figures, and a 3yo taking on older, more exposed handicappers like Hale End (6yo, form fading with a 4 lately after early season promise) and Kalamunda (huge break of 63 days, questionable fitness) looks well drawn (4) to get a good position. Hot And Cold is another consistent filly but is already fully exposed at this level with a string of place efforts and has more market attention. Franschhoek's scope for further improvement, weight relief and low mileage give it the strongest upside in the race, and it should be feasted on inexperience only briefly before stepping forward again. I make it the most solid win angle at a fair price relative to more exposed, older rivals.
