The Verdict
FormCast selectionDolly DiorConfidence 4/5Didn't win
Dolly Dior is in tip-top form with figures reading 4121 across her last four starts, including a recent win 39 days ago, and she's clearly progressive at just 5yo with a workable OR of 110. Brian Hughes takes the ride, a strong booking that signals confidence from a yard (Patrick Neville) that targets these handicap hurdles well. She's fit, race-sharp and improving, unlike several rivals returning from lengthy layoffs (Micks Jet 172 days, Bel Amigo 234 days, Timefortom 153 days, Frontier Prince 137 days) who carry obvious fitness question marks. Letterston Lily looks the class act on RPR/OR (122) but her form line shows a slight query with an inconsistent recent effort, and top-weight assignments at Perth over this trip haven't always been kind to fancied types facing a well weighted, in-form rival. Hidden Fortune (Dan Skelton) is also progressive with a solid recent block of form (22-11) and cannot be ignored, but she must defy quite a bit more weight relatively and Harry Skelton/stable are respected without being unbeatable value at a short-ish price. Rauzan also won last time out (23 days ago) and is interesting with tongue-tie applied, but he's more of a place threat than a banker given jury still out fully replicating that level again. Weighing it up, Dolly Dior's man-on-song form figures, fitness, big rider booking and fair mark make her the most solid, best-value proposition to win, edging the field who are mostly returning from breaks or carry other question marks.
