Leicester 1:42 Result

Iwasjustsaying is the only proven winner in the field, carries top weight of 135lbs (7lb above the rest, suggesting a well-regarded Ghaiyyath colt from a strong Godolphin-adjacent yard in Charlie Johnston's stable), and steps out fresh off a winning debut 24 days ago with Jack Mitchell retained. Sire Ghaiyyath's stock generally have speed and the extra weight allowance points to a horse rated highly by the handicapper/official assessment already. Talamon (3rd on debut) and Astabuen (3rd on debut) both showed a little but were beaten; Revoked's 95 form (9th then 5th) is unconvincing. United Authority is interesting - a Dubawi colt for Ralph Beckett/James Doyle who was 5th last time, but that was already his second start and no visible improvement noted. The unraced string (Waqqad, Arabian Blue, Gilded Call, Inkjet, Meticulously) all come from good yards but debutants over 7f on good-to-soft against a proven winner carrying more weight is a tough ask fresh out of the gate - first-time speed is unknown. Given no OR figures are shown to differentiate, the key formful signal is the solid winning effort from Iwasjustsaying, and Charlie Johnston's team have a strong juvenile division. He looks the most solid, proven type in a race full of question marks, and represents a fair bet even without long odds, given the clear formful advantage over stable debutants and lesser form colts.
