Reflect On Glory has already won over course-and-distance type conditions (form figures 31 show a recent win), carries a solid OR of 82, and races off top weight alongside Flying Pirate, suggesting a genuine level of ability already proven. K.R. Burke's yard is in good form with 2yo's and Clifford Lee is a strong booking. His only run since the win was presumably a step up in class, and he retains the yard's confidence back at a suitable trip. Flying Pirate (85 OR, form 13) is the obvious market rival, having won and placed, but the head gear addition (first-time cheekpieces) raises a slight query, and Charles Bishop's yard changes are less commanding than Burke's operation right now. Draw 1 for Reflect On Glory is workable at Haydock's straight track, and with rain-softened ground he looks well suited to keeping on strongly through the final furlongs. The rest of the field is largely unproven - Maliqui and All I Know both finished 5th on debut and need to step forward considerably, while Perfect Gal and Frankie Power are unraced in this line and hard to trust off pedigree alone despite fashionable sires. Lopefernza's 66 form figures don't inspire confidence. On balance, Reflect On Glory's proven winning form at a competitive level, and a booking of a in-form jockey, give him a slight edge over the favourite Flying Pirate, and he looks a fair each-way/win value proposition in a race lacking strength in depth.
