The Verdict
FormCast selectionSnowingConfidence 4/5Didn't win
Snowing is the strongest form horse in the field on figures - a 5-2-6 progression showing improvement each run, with the runner-up effort last time out against likely better company. Trained by A P O'Brien with Wayne Lordan booked, and by No Nay Never out of a Teofilo mare - this is a stable that specialises in getting fillies ready for maiden wins at this stage of the season. The consistent upward trajectory (5th, 2nd, then presumably competitive again) suggests this filly is finally peaking into a maiden win, and O'Brien's older, experienced juveniles usually have plenty of class in this type of contest. Zenith Blaze (2 form, J P O'Brien, Colin Keane, Kingman colt/filly out of a black-type female line for Juddmonte) is the most obvious market rival - a solid second on debut suggests she's better than bare form and drawn to progress, but a single run of form is less proven than Snowing's pattern of improvement. Alpine Wedding has an OR of 90 and form of 5-3-5, respectable but not visually progressive, and drawn wide in stall 18 which is a concern over 7f at Gowran. Wecouldavehaditall (9-0) and Ocean Surge (8-6) both need to find more. The bulk of the field is unraced or has no worthwhile form, so this is likely to come down to the horses with solid form: Snowing, Zenith Blaze, and Alpine Wedding. Snowing's yard has the strongest recent juvenile fillies' maiden strike-rate historically at this level, and the runner-up effort last time indicates she's already competitive against similar; stepping up again into this weaker-looking maiden should see her prevail. I'll back Snowing as the most reliable, proven type in a race full of question marks.
