This is a typically messy 16-runner handicap chase, but The Cobblers Wife stands out. She won last time out (form 064-P1) with Danny Mullins booked again, and the Mullins yard is in excellent form. Her mark of 82 looks workable given she's still relatively unexposed for an 8yo mare with only a handful of runs over fences, and she's clearly progressive having gone from mid-pack finishes to a P then a win. Danny Mullins riding suggests stable confidence. The top-weights Driveonwill (OR100) and Gorthill (OR99) both carry tongue ties and have unreliable form figures (U's and P's littered through), making them vulnerable at big weights in a large field. Kalsman is fairly and squarely opposed on recent form (033 finishes) but hasn't won going back a while. Run For The Border is consistent (7-3243) but hasn't broken through yet this campaign and travels up in class/company here. The Cobblers Wife's winning run-style and fresh improvement curve give her the est chance of translating recent placings into another win, and with a competitive rather than crushing weight, she looks the value approach in a wide-open, hard-to-fathom contest.
