Spinola Bay has by far the strongest form profile here - two wins and a third from four starts over hurdles (1136-7) with a Gordon Elliott handling and a fair last-time run. Herja is respectable but lower-rated (OR105) and up against much stronger similar sized rivals. Spinola Bay looks feasibly best of these on class alone, and with Elliott's boys typically well drilled for a handicap novice event like this, he rates the one to be on. The 5-day rider booking (Smith 5lb claim) also suggests confidence from the yard.
