Catterick 4:46 Result

Captain Cess sets the standard on both weight-of-form and recent trajectory: form figures 6-2312 show clear progression to a 2nd and a win last two starts, with the OR of 60 topping this weak Class 6 field by a couple of pounds. He's fit having raced recently (35 days), carries top weight deservedly, and the profile of improving 4yo gelding with a leading yard (Carroll) fits a race like this. Draw 9 isn't ideal at Catterick's tight 7f but the速horse's turn of foot/consistency should offset it. Showtime Mahomes (OR59) is next best on paper but his form line (164050) is patchier with more inconsistency, and at 7 he's fully exposed. Secret Road and Jenni have flashes but are similarly capped. Most of the rest are held on official ratings and have been well below Captain Cess's level recently (Mister Sky Blue, She's A Goldigger, Maui Breeze all in the 46-53 OR band). This looks a fairly moderate contest where the horse in form and rated highest should prove hard to beat, and there's no standout market rival with a stronger case at a bigger price to prefer instead.
