Oscar Nominee is a lightly-raced 3yo Frankel filly progressing fast - form figures 128 show a clear upward trajectory, culminating in a recent win. She carries the highest OR (81) in the field bar none, backed by a top yard (J P Murtagh) and a strong booking in Ben Coen. Weight of 136lbs (top weight) is a concern but is fully justified by superior class/form compared to this modest handicap field, most of whom are exposed older types with plateaued or declining marks (Harana, Sanctijude, Lady Arwen etc). Her sire Frankel/damsire Sunday Break profile suggests she should have no issue stretching to 1m1f, and being unexposed at this trip/grade she looks capable of further improvement. The rest of the field is functional but none scream value against a fast-improving 3yo with a rising profile and a live gallop off just three runs. Rest Your Mind (506-1) is the closest market rival with a smart last-time win, but drops in class/steps up in distance are less proven than Oscar Nominee's clear upward trend, and Colin Keane aside, the form lines are thinner. Lady Arwen has won two of her last three but is a 7yo mare fully exposed at a lower level - ceiling looks capped. I'm happy to side with the improving type at the top of the weights as the best combination of genuine chance and fair market price, expecting her to start around 7/2-9/2, which looks fair without being generous, but represents the strongest win case in the race.
