Perth 4:50 Result

Down Around carries the highest OR (105) in a weak Class 5 field, is trained by Gordon Elliott and ridden by Sean Bowen - a strong connection combo. His recent form (36-714) shows a recent win and consistent placing, with a run just 7 days ago suggesting he's fit and in form. Top weight is justified by class and he looks the most reliable stayer at 3m on good ground. Dalileo (OR100) is the main threat with a recent win too, but Down Around's superior rating and stronger connections give him the edge. Sauce Of Life has questionable recent activity (86 days since last run) despite decent last-time form. The rest are considerably lower-rated and look to be there to make up the numbers. Down Around looks the standout on ratings and current form, and with a competent handicapper like Elliott clearly placing him to win, he's the play at the top of the weights.
