Not My Type has a rock-solid recent formline (1-1-5) and is trained by William Haggas, whose 2yo nursery runners are always fit and forwardly placed. Her most recent win came readily and the step up to this level looks well within her grasp off an OR of 84, especially with only 129lbs. No Nay Never sire line is proven over 5f with plenty of speed, and Tom Marquand takes over having ridden her recently. Draw 2 gives a good gate to get across and dictate/be handy without traffic problems, ideal for a 5f dash at Newmarket where pace and early position matter enormously. Harry Knows (135lbs, OR90) is joint-top rated and has been progressive with the addition of blinkers, but he's now carrying the artillery on his back with a big weight rise and has had 6 starts already this term - the model of a horse who could be vulnerable to the "over the top" query at this stage of the season, even with Ryan Moore aboard. Napa shares the same OR and top weight but his form figures (4187) are less convincing and he was well beaten in defeat last time before a nice winning effort - inconsistent. Black Velvet Boy and Jaijai both have solid recent form but are unproven at this venue/class step and carry more questions marks on the gate speed than Not My Type, who has shown she can act on quick ground and produce when fresh (fourth run back, 24 days since last). I'm siding with the yard in form and a filly who has genuinely progressed the last twice starts, taking a stand against the market leaders on weight and consistency grounds.
