The Verdict
FormCast selectionRoeillaunConfidence 4/5Won ✓
Roeillaun has the strongest, most progressive form in the field: 6-7-2-3, clearly building through her novice campaign with an official rating of 77, the highest quoted OR in the race. She's already run down runners-up and third in competitive maidens and looks to be crying out for this drop to a lower grade auction maiden. Top weight at 130lbs reflects that superior assessed ability, and Colin Keane taking the ride for Noel Meade (a trainer who campaigns his fillies with purpose) is a positive booking signal. The outside draw (15 of 15) is a slight concern over 6f, but Navan's straight track is generally fair and a strong-travelling, progressive filly with race fitness should overcome it, especially as pace in this race looks moderate given how many are debutants or lightly raced.
The obvious market rival is Essence Of Time (Palace Pier colt out of a Street Cry mare, trained by A Oliver, ridden by Chris Hayes) who was second last time out (72) and looks fast-improving, but that was only a maiden run second and she's up in class/company here with less experience than Roeillaun. Lucy's Promise has a string of finishes (076803) but hasn't shown the same trajectory of improvement and her rating (62) is well below Roeillaun's.
Several unraced or lightly-raced fillies (My Girl Georgia, Your A Daisy, Red Lily, Marcescence, Destiny Calls) could improve, but with no bench-marked form to assess it's speculative to back any of them over a proven, rated performer who is already flirting with a maiden win. Roeillaun represents the read where solid recent form, rising ratings and a positive stable/jockey booking outweigh the wide draw concern.
