Fortitudine is the class act here - a Godolphin/Appleby 3yo by Dubawi who broke his maiden last time out and is now stepped up in a weak novice field for Kempton AW. Buick retained suggests they think he's progressive, and Appleby's AW strike rate with lightly-raced improvers is strong. Shadow Road (41 form) is the obvious market rival having also won, but Fortitudine's pedigree (Dubawi/Street Cry) and being fresh off a debut win for a top yard gives him the edge for further improvement at this trip. No Ordinary Joe is a 10yo with poor recent form (9) and looks there for the experience. Anchor's form figure of 0 and lack of a clear placed run is a concern. Brave Hunter has some solid placed form (62725) but is dropping in class/venue with a first-time visor, an unknown quantity, while Roxy Power has no form at all and is a big unknown for a strong yard - could improve but too speculative to back over the confirmed talent of Fortitudine. Overall this looks like a match between the two Godolphin-type youngsters, and I side with the Appleby/Buick combination given the higher-profile placing and pedigree, expecting him to be sent off favourite but still underestimate his true engine given it's his first try at this longer 1m3f trip which should suit his stamina-laden pedigree (Dubawi/Street Cry).
