Goodwood 3:10 Result

Coaxed is unbeaten in one start, a Cheveley Park Stud filly by Baaeed (himself a top-class performer whose progeny are showing real quality) trained by John & Thady Gosden and ridden by William Buick - a top-tier connection combo that rarely runs green horses without genuine ability. Her sole run was only 18 days ago, keeping her fresh and progressive, and she steps up to face rivals with more exposed form, which often suits a lightly-raced type with untapped potential from a powerhouse yard. Gosden 2yo fillies stepping up in class after a debut win are a strong angle historically. The unknown OR reflects only one run but the manner of victory and quality of connections suggest she's rated conservatively by the market compared to her true engine. Key market rivals: Nuit d'Eclair (OR 100, in-form with a decent placed effort last time) and Light Of Dawn (OR 99, consistent 133 form) look the classy, exposed types but both are fully up to their current marks and have had 2-3 tougher tests already. Bayside View (212) and Eabha (33113) are consistent but look to lack the true engine of the well-bred, less exposed types. Aperoll's 131 form is solid but again fully exposed at similar level. Given the boost of drawing away from the widest stalls (draw 4), the leading connections, and a pedigree/profile suggesting more improvement to come than the bulk of these already-tried rivals, Coaxed offers the best blend of upside and price versus the more exposed short-priced favourites.
