The Verdict

FormCast selectionPigeon PeteConfidence 4/5Didn't win
This is a weak-looking 2yo maiden with several unraced types, so recent solid form counts heavily. Pigeon Pete's only run produced a clear second, and he's by Cracksman out of a Mount Nelson mare - a pedigree that should offer more improvement for a step forward in trip/experience. A single run finishing 2nd with a break of 27 days suggests the yard is bringing him back fresh for this having learnt plenty. Greenall & Guerriero are a sharp, in-form yard with a good strike rate at AW tracks, and David Nolan is a shrewd booking for a market-fancied type. Aljoon has more experience (023) but has already been beaten twice including a below-par effort last time, capping his upside. Reichenbach Falls also has a solid single run (3rd) but from a stronger contest and lacks the clear runner-up form. The unraced horses (Al Wasl Spirit, Bal Harbour, Beningbrough Hall) are big unknowns from decent yards but hard to trust off no form in a competitive field, especially with no wind-ops or market signals to lean on. Reviens Demain and Nil Satis Supreme both only managed 8th in their sole starts, hard to weight highly here. Pigeon Pete's proven placed effort, positive trainer/jockey combo, and scope for improvement stepping up in experience make him the most solid contender in a race lacking a standout, well-proven type.
