Ripon 2:30 Result

Time Thief won last time out just 26 days ago, is a well-bred Time Test gelding out of a Sea The Stars mare (strong stamina influences suited to 1m3f), and gets a top jockey booking in David Egan. Trainer Tom Clover has been in good form and this looks a logical step up in trip/class for a horse clearly progressing. The unbeaten-in-last-start profile and fresh, unexposed nature give him the highest ceiling in a race lacking a proven force. Peace Belle has solid recent form (442) with a workable OR of 102 and represents the main danger, but her finishing positions suggest she may find one better rather than winning. Why Not Me and Feelin' Free are both lightly raced with placed efforts (2-4, 25) but haven't shown quite enough winning form yet. Masterly is a big unknown returning from a very long layoff (1077 days) - too risky to trust fitness-wise despite a promising staying pedigree. Time Thief's proven winning form at a track/trip suitable for his stamina, combined with a leading rider and in-form yard, makes him the standout in a moderate contest.
