Redcar 3:37 Result

Form figures 961113 show this gelding has rattled off back-to-back-to-back wins and is clearly in red-hot form, with the two most recent runs both victories at a competitive level. Sprint handicappers who are win-win-win are often still ahead of the assessor, and dropping into this modest 5f Class 5 at Redcar with only a small weight rise looks very winnable again. Draw 4 is workable, and the yard (Nigel Tinkler) knows how to place sprinters at this track. Rivals like Hanney Girl and Castan carry the same OR70 top weight but neither shows the same explosive recent scoring sequence - Castan's form figures (096389) are patchy, and Hanney Girl, while progressive, hasn't strung consecutive wins together. Emperor's Son's figures include a couple of big numbers (109828) suggesting inconsistency, and North West Gal is interesting on best form (31-) but has had a break (74 days) and her run style is unproven fresh. Sergeant Mayer's momentum, suitable draw and fitness (ran 15 days ago, quick enough turnaround to keep sharp without burning out) make him the most solid, in-form threat on ratings-adjusted jumping-off point. He looks overpriced relative to a horse on a hat-trick.
