The Verdict

FormCast selectionWar GamingConfidence 4/5Didn't win
War Gaming is the classiest, most progressive runner here. Form figures 233 show consistent placed efforts, highest OR (78) of the field, and the step up to blinkers (p) today from George Scott/Rossa Ryan suggests intent to find the extra needed to convert places into a win. Rossa Ryan is a strong booking, and Scott is a shrewd operator with 2yo sprinters. Tumishi (43, OR 77) is the obvious market rival with solid form, by Havana Grey out of a No Nay Never mare - clearly precocious, but has already been below War Gaming's level and hasn't shown quite the same upward trajectory. The three newcomers/lightly raced types (Corbie Rock, Duchess Of Immatin - both from strong Godolphin/Shadwell-type sire lines by Dark Angel and Blue Point respectively) could be smart, but with zero form to assess and unproven ground/trip form, they're punts rather than solid bets. Native Chief (form figure 8) looks the weakest form on paper. Channel Islands' modest maiden form (5) doesn't inspire either. War Gaming's blinkers addition after a clear pattern of minor-placed efforts, combined with a live pace-forward profile suited to 6f minimum trips, gives him the est chance to go one better. He looks fairly and not overly short in a competitive but ultimately weak-looking maiden, offering the best combination of proven ability and market value relative to genuine chance.
