At OR 51 he's not overly weighted, gets in light at 133lbs, and the Kodiac/Raven's Pass pedigree suggests a mile should suit a maturing 3yo gelding well. Slattery has another runner (Sunrise Angel) but Sayonara's shape of form is the most progressive in the field. Draw 10 is workable in a big apprentice field, not the widest, and with apprentice Adam Browne-Souza aboard there's no big weight penalty to punish the light-weighted form. Compared to the more fancied types like Aiteall (60 OR, joint top weight, only a single placed effort in three runs, headgear added suggesting one to note but unproven) or Glamazon (dropping from a yard in form but figure of 108493 is inconsistent), Sayonara looks the most reliable form standout without being disproportionately weighted for it. In a competitive 16-runner apprentice handicap where market info isn't detailed, backing the horse with the clearest upward form curve and fair assessment mark is the strongest angle. I'll take Sayonara as the best staking opportunity, expecting each-way support to be well justified given the size of the field.
