The Verdict
FormCast selectionDubai HonourConfidence 4/5Didn't win
Dubai Honour is clearly the class act here, rated 117 against a field topping out in the mid-100s - a huge OR advantage of 11-21lbs. He's a proven Listed/Group performer with course form suggesting he handles Chester's tight track, and his recent 12-243 form line shows he's fit and competitive against much stronger company than this. William Haggas is a top-percentage trainer and Cieren Fallon's booking suggests confidence. The step back in class to a Listed contest at Chester looks tailor-made. Weight is a leveller (131lbs top weight) but his rating comfortably justifies carrying it in this grade. The concern is his layoff pattern and whether he's fully tuned after 28 days, but his profile of racing at the top level and dropping in is a classic angle for value. None of the makers - Grey Cuban (fresh after 308 days), Too Soon (in-form but stepping up in class), or Plage De Havre (in-form gelding, but rated 106) look to have his raw class edge. This is a strength-vs-fitness contest and I side with the higher-rated, in-form horse dropping in grade.
