Spectacular Diver has been in the frame regularly (256376) but that string of minor placings without winning suggests a want-to rather than a winner, and he's already raced six times without success - the model of a 'nearly' horse who may keep finding one better. Mubehir's 072 form with a maiden win diluted by inconsistency and now facing this from a wide-ish draw is workable but not standout. The unraced brigade (Espresso Breeze, Harry Akoya, Woodvale, Claudia Miss, Youngheartsrunfree) are hard to assess, though Woodvale (Mayson) and Harry Akoya (Harry Angel) both have suitable speed sire lines and drop in with big yards - worth respecting but unpredictable first time out. Floral Maid gets the vote as a lightly-raced filly clearly showing ability first time out, with a trainer (Ellison) who knows how to place two-year-olds at this course, and a Calyx sire that's proven potent for stakes-class speed. She looks the type to build on a promising debut and takes plenty of weight off market rivals with more exposed form.
