The Verdict

FormCast selectionAmir LehbabConfidence 4/5Didn't win
This is a weak-on-paper novice with three unraced/no-form runners, so form and stable class stand out. Amir Lehbab is the only runner with a proper race record (32 - a win and a placed run) and an official rating of 82, giving him a clear form edge over three debutants and Black Gin who has only run once (unplaced 7th). He's trained by Andrew Balding, a top-tier flat yard, and ridden by Oisin Murphy, a strong booking that signals confidence. Being by No Nay Never out of a Oratorio mare, he has speed and can handle testing ground pedigree-wise, and having already shown ability to win, he looks better equipped for this than three types stepping into the unknown on heavy ground at 7f. Rogue Constelation and Tyrrhenian Thunder are unraced - hard to have confidence in first-time-out types on soft/heavy ground at this trip, even with promising sires (Starman, Night Of Thunder). Nice Neasy Does It has some form (30) but hasn't won and her placed effort came at a different level. Black Gin's solitary run was a well-beaten 7th. Overall Amir Lehbab looks the most solid, proven type in a race lacking depth, and with Murphy up for Balding, he should start favourite or close to it - deservedly so given the form gap to his rivals. No standout bigger-priced each-way play emerges as the unraced horses are unknown quantities rather than clear value.
